We finally had a nice day in Central Oregon today, but all the rivers are blown out except the Metolius. One of the few places you can legally fish for Bulltrout. How sweet it is.

luckie88,
Nice bulls. I'd probably love the Metolius, IF it were 3000 miles closer! LOL!! Thanks for sharing!
Best regards, Dave S.
The Metolius is the river where I really learned about fly fishing, especially dry flying and tying my own flies, way back when I was 14 years old. I went there for three years, two weeks at a time during the summer and totally fell in love with fly fishing. Been a while since I have fished that river.

Nice looking fish! Is that second one FLOY-tagged?
I spend a little time on the mountain, I spend a little time on the hill...
the met is my favorite river!nice bulls, steve
A beautiful piece of water indeed.
How long were those leaders you were using?
Nice fish. Have you been down to check out Fall River luckie88 . I was wondering how it was looking. Almost drove over there this weekend.

Very nice fish indeed! I didn't know there was a river named the Metolius, I only knew that name as a manufacturer for climbing equipment.
Thanks all! To answer most of your questions: 1) The fish is not Floy tagged, that is just the light on the fin (I zoomed in on the origional) 2) Haven't been down to the Fall, but heard it's a little off as is the Met and all local waters. 3) We were using 9' leader with 10# test swinging leeches and nymphing stones, but using droppers with 3X and sz.16 secret flies, all grabbed the smaller fly. And, Mr. Bug the Metolius River was around before the gear company (I climb too, and have alot of there gear which is mostly made here in town), but it is one of those fabled spring creeks/rivers like the H. Fork and Silver Creek. Going to the head water where it comes right out of the ground and to drive a few miles down to see how large it gets is an amazing sight to see, and with all the big Ponderosa Pines is amazing and will take your breath away. A one fish day on this river is a GOOD DAY and for us to get three bows and three bulls, well, is just OK.
