It IS a blast teaching someone else something you love, isn't it! I have taught several people, and have given people some impromptu casting instruction at streamside several times, and sometimes think I enjoyed myself more than when I was actually fishing for myself. Along with my usual fishing buddy, I have been teaching a Boy Scout merit badge class on flyfishing. The boys really enjoyed it. I am most certainly not an accomplished fly tier, and thought the boys would really be bored during the flytying class, but I heard one of them tell another, "this is the best merit badge course I've ever taken". I finally had to ask them to stop so I could put my gear away to go home. It was a really rewarding day, probably moreso for me than for the boys.
