I agree on the MUD which I guess is a sink aid so ....yes. I have use Xink before, but didn't notice it being a big advantage.
Mud seems to be the handiest, or just wet the fly before casting and keep false casts to a minimum.

I'm convinced Xink is just Kodak Photo Flo which is more or less dish washer detergent, diluted.
I christen my subsurface flies with a rub of stream mud. It not only helps them sink, but also masks odors and most importantly, it gives me confidence and brings good luck
