Favorite smallies flies - what should I be tying

Thanks to all, Ive been smallie fishing 3 times and so far...
#1 cloisers
I tie marabou clousers, white/white, griz olive/white so far the best
#2 Hard Hackle worm (in olive)
#3 BUB (in charturse for goodness sakes - only thing that worked one day)
#4 boobie white with chartuse belly

Biggest dissapointment: crayfish Thet worked great on LM n lake anna in april, ZERO on sm
Havent tried the bendback, too soon for helgamites.....

Anyone got a hot smallie fly?

"Sam's One Bug" there is nothing better than watching the fish explode or simply sip a top water bug off the surface! IMHO

Funny you should mention "Phat". Was playing a "Scrabble" game with someone via my smartphone and my opponent played "phat". The game program recognized it as a "legitimate" word.

Too many years ago I was playing Scrabble with my parents and used ''maser'' as a word. "Microwave amplification thru stimulated emisson of radiation". My Dad challenged because it was an acromyn. I pointed out that radar and sonar were also acromyns but were acceptable. Double points!.

I fly-fished for smallies a couple days ago. Had a couple hits on a Foxee Red Clouser. Caught 2 on a chartreuse-over-white Clouser Deep Minnow, and then caught 3 or 4 of the bigger fish on a popper.
