I love reading all the posts about tenkara fishing. It reminds me of the times I used a carbon fiber whip type pole for fishing for crappies and bluegills. I used a float that balanced with less than a gram of tiny split shot on the line. If a fish so much as breathed on the bait the float would show it. It was a killer way to fish for panfish. The only thing about it that I didn't like was that I hooked way, way to many fish in the throat and, as I was fishing catch and release, that wouldn't do.
With tenkara fishing here is another opportunity to enjoy beautiful, elegant and utterly simple fishing.
I need to order an outfit so I can be ready for the spring thaw!
