My new years fly tying resolution is to make step by steps for each new pattern in 2011 as I tie them.

Tie more of the older classical trout flies like Peter Ross.
Would like to practice more the "old" feather wings.

I am going to try to do the one I didn't get done this year, and that is learning to spin deer hair.
My other resolution for this year I did accomplish and that was to tie more 14 to 18's and less of the 26 to 32's.
14 to 18's tied about 20 dozen for the year. 26's 2 dozen and 28's and 30 1 dozen each and only 2 dozen 32's.
Also I want to get comfortable with doing "Married" Wings.

Along with any other tying I do, I'm planning to learn to tie the featured fly in each issue of PA Angler & Boater. Not a huge goal, but one I can do.

Many years ago I made a resolution to not make any more New Years resolutions. I do believe that it's the only one I ever kept.

By New Years, all my "bad" habits are usually remedied! Shortly, I should be starting on developing 2011s bad habits. One of the positive side effects of being monetarily challenged is that you can't get into TOO much trouble, all at once! LOL!! Frizzle, Spazzle, Snoort, Frumph! Wheew! I feel better now! Good luck on your New Years restitutions, I mean resolutions!!!!

    Best regards, Dave S.

first--tie lots of what i actually like to use in enough colors and quantity
second--tie some stuff that might work
third--tie one or two really pretty things for the fun of it
fly fishing and baseball share a totally deceptive simplicity; that's why they can both be lifelong pursuits.
