FYI

Monday, January 3, 2011, noon to 2PM or whenever.

January 3, 2011 will be a day featuring an event former GGACC President Tripp Diedrichs calls "one of those GGACC spontaneous magic moments." Mr. Archie Steele of Dunkeld, Scotland, will demonstrate Scott MacKenzie's newest 16' Spey rod and line, offer them to members for their own casting and follow that up with a presentation in Anglers Lodge to discuss fishing in Scotland and Russia. If time permits, Archie will report on his exploits in Cuban waters pursuing salt water species.

Archie has fished Scotland's waters for 70+ years, with more than half a century as a professional fisherman and gillie. Archie is in charge of angling for Dunkeld House on the Tay. While the Tay River is Archie's home, he is experienced on several renowned waters as well as Russia's Yokanga River.

Archie is a professional for Scott MacKenzie rods and lines. Scott is well known to GGACC members as he is a Spey O Rama champion and three times world champion who retired unbeaten in the world of Spey casting competition.

We look forward to seeing you at GGACC, Monday, January 3 at noon. It will be fun and educational. It's a great opportunity to learn about the development of Spey rods, lines and angling techniques during the last many decades.
We know that this is a weekday and may not be the most convenient day for many of you, but wanted to take advantage of Archie's generous offer while he's in town. Perhaps it's a good day to put the "Gone Fishin'" sign up at work and take part of the day off!!

The event is free to members and we encourage you to invite others who may be interested in Spey. No advance reservation is required. If you have any questions, please contact GGACC Board Member and Spey Education Chairperson, Bob Pauli at bob.pauli@mac.com or by phone at 707 322 3583.
