    Default Blue Fly Cafe

Has anyone ordered flies from this website? The other day I got an e-mail special from them saying there was a 30% off sale for online subscribers for the next six days. My concern was the fact that Internet Explorer highlighted a "certificate error warning" on the site. I also noticed that it was not a secure site as evidenced by the lack of an s on the http url.

I think they are a legit outfit but am a little concerned about placing an order with a credit card considering the above mentioned warning.

Also was wondering about the quality of their flies, so thought maybe someone here on the Forum may have ordered from them before.

    Thanks
    Dave

You don't need to worry about the https until you get to the page where they ask for the CC number. If that one has the certificate error or it does not show https, then either call them on the phone or pass completely.

Don't know a thing about their flies.

Dave. I first heard of Blue fly Cafe from a couple of fellows in my fly fishing club a few years ago. I was needing some bass patterns for my son in Texas and tried them. Super cheap (inexpensive) flys and shipping. Plus with every order they send a couple of freebies. One guy who recommended them is Richard Bean, a writer for several outdoor and fishing magazines. I contacted them online and placed an order. Seems like it took 2 days to receive the package. I placed another order for a friend who was looking for some flys to take to British Columbia last summer. Again, fast service and good quality flys cheaper than I could ty them for him. Strange thing tho. Although I've ordered from them several times, I've never recieved any "Promotional" emails from them. Another thing, they accept paypal. So if you are worried about your credit card being compromised use that service.
I'm either going to, coming from or thinking about fishing. Jim

Thanks guys for the input. I e-mailed them and got a prompt reply easing my fears. As Kevin said, the order form was a "https" secure page. I placed an order this morning.
