    FLY TYING

When the days begin to grow short my thoughts turn toward tying flies. After nearly a half of a century of fly fishing and fly tying I hardly need to add to my personal collection of flies, but I always see some new pattern or a variation on some old pattern that I would like to add to my collection.

Neil, thanks for some great stuff. I was recently in my favorite fly shop, Jimmy's All Season Angler in Idaho Falls, ID and found another couple of somethings that I just couldn't live without, and thus expanded my already burgeoning collection of materials...isn't it great?!

My brother-in-law asked me how I got wrapped around the axle with this fly tying stuff. Your article explained why much better than I could.

Thank you for the well written and timely article.

One of the reasons that I tie is that most of the flies that I use are not available commercially.
Second is that I enjoy tying alot.

Nice read! It made me go look at the Rite Bobbin site and I noticed the new Half Hitch Mag. I'm buying it this weekend. Slick as puppy poo!
