Bi-Vis Emerger
Bi-Visible Emerger
1. #14 dry fly hook (or your choice)
2. gold tinsel tag
3.gold pheasant tail
+ tuft of hare's mask, or light brown synthetic dubbing
+ tail overwing of mallard quill
3.peacock herl butt
4.palmered blue dun hackle body w/cream or white hackle face
Impressionistic and a high floater. I tried to get the nymph and the dun at the point of emergence with the wings popping out of the thorax.
The split quill wings and tail in general provide extra support for flotation. The bi-visible hackle lets me see it from a long way.
