In reference to the fluoro tippet discussion, is there any trouble with knots when tying fluoro tippet to mono leaders?

I use flurocarbon tippet all the time. Never had a knot to slip. I always use the double uni. 3 turns on the larger leader and 4 turns on the tippet.

I use blood knots and have NO problems.
I have had no problems, I mostly use a triple surgeons. Jut make sure you wet the knot before you tighten it.
All the best.

I've been using a double surgeon's without trouble. It is said that the two together can be troublesome so knot consideration is a factor....good question.
Fluorocarbon is harder than mono, and I've had fluorocarbon cut through the softer mono when the knot is stressed by larger fish. I've had this happen with both blood knots and regular surgeon's knots. Use a well lubricated TRIPLE surgeons knot (3 times through) and it will solve the cut through problem.

I use an Orvis (or Cabela's) Cinch Tie? Brass Knot Tyer tool and tie a Triple Surgeons knot (follow the directions on tying a double surgeons knot with the tool but just loop it one one time for a triple. I have no trouble with this knot at all. Holds great for mono leader to fluorocarbon tippet.
