    Default Tested my rod

I finished a 7'6" 2/3 wt 4 piece rod a couple weeks ago. Set it up with a 3 wt Tica reel and 3 wt DT Cortland line. We had a fly fishing club outing so I took it along for a trial run. I gotta tell you, this rod casts sweet. I tied a piece of yarn to the tippet because the pond we were fishing requires 5 wt and larger rods. No matter, I just wanted to try it out. It sent out 45 feet of line with such accuracy I was amazed. A couple buddies wanted to try it and they too loved it. My goodness I'm happy with it. Can't wait to get it on a creek.
Sorry, no pictures. My ability to snap'em, transfer from cam to 'puter and then to here sucks, as a lot of you know from my previous attempts.
I'm either going to, coming from or thinking about fishing. Jim

Hey Jim. What do you mean it requires 5wt and larger rods? I don't understand that.

Tim, My fly fishing club is allowed to use a private pond one weekend a month for catch and release only. The owners of the pond want the fish landed, and released as quickly as possible. They think it's less stress on the fish that way. Therefore they figure the larger the outfit, the faster the catch. The trout at this place range from 1/2 lb to 10 lbs. Their place, their rules. Jim

Interesting. I had never heard of any place having that type of restriction. Like you said, their place their rules. I can live with it.

I'll second Steve's question-what blank did you build it on?

Steve and Dave, It was a no name blank I purchased from a seller on ebay. All I know is it's an IM8 7'6" green 4 piece 2/3 weight.
