    Default COOPER'S HOPPER - Fly of the week - November 15, 2010

    COOPER'S HOPPER

Everyone loves hopper patterns!*I don't know of a fly fisherman who doesn't carry them during the summer and early fall months. It?s a 'go-to-fly' during those dog days of summer --- even if you don't see them on the water. Crickets, deer-flies, ants --- they all take a back seat to the almighty 'HOPPER' !

Tom Deschaine has done it again, another great fly pattern, and better yet it is a pattern from the mid 1930's, originated by Ken Cooper.

This is the 24th "Fly of the Week" article submitted by Tom Deschaine, the other 23 are also great fly patterns to use even today...

    • Caplis
    • Catskill
    • Deer Hair Caddis
    • Delaware Adams
    • Doodlebug
    • Easy Hex
    • Female Hendrickson
    • Fire Fly

    • Gray Wulff
    • Katterman

I had made comment last night in the chat room about this pattern. Can't wait to try it.

A most excellent hopper pattern. Can't wait to tie some up.
