    Eggplant is a member of the deadly nightshade family. Parts of the plant can be poisonous. In all regards that makes it alike tomatoes and potatoes.
    There is some research to suggest that the alkaloids found in eggplant, and especially the green under-skin of potatoes, may greatly aggravate arthitic symptoms.
    Don't store your potatoes where the sunlight can reach them within 2-3 weeks of eating them. If you do, remove the peel and all of the green material just under it before preparing.

    I don't care much for eggplant myself. Local grown acorn squash are a buck a piece now at our local grocery store.

    The acorn squash in our local store are also $1 apiece but the one I grew are a lot less than that. This one is the Carnival variety.
