The weather around here has beed fairlly mild, so stocking started a bit early. I got into the canoe after work and paddled around my favorite pond for a few hours. Just about dusk I hooked a nice rainbow trout on a brown bugger. 16" long, and so fat I almost couldn't get both hands around him. The guy spin fishing in the noisy motor boat looked envious. He didn't catch a thing. Not to long after he left the fish started rising to a sparse hatch. It was just about dark and cold, so I didn't change flies. I was more than happy with my one fish. Looking forward to a great year of fishing.
