    Default Cape Breaton Salmon

It is Fall Salmon time in NS, the rivers with water(there are only a few) are fishing well...

A ig rain on the weekend should help the mainland rivers as these are in desperate need.

A few pics fom yesterday's outing.. GOT TO LOVE ATLANTICS ON THE FLY-Especially in the Fall enjoy members

Fish are caught on barbless hooks and released

Nice one! I hear the St. Mary's was closed for all fishing this year. The East River should be running now I would think. With the warm weather up there, though, might be a late run this year.

Oh, I suppose they are, as it did seem to be a dry one this year from the reports from back home. Probably will run much later, probably after the season closes for them then. A shame, I think it was 2008 that was a really good looking run up the St. Mary's and there was some hope that the fishing was on the way up. 2009 wasn't as good catch rate-wise, as the fish seem to have all hit the river and motored up and through to the spawning grounds over night (the river was high and the fish weren't waiting). I think they were sort of unsure as to how many fish actually were in the river that year. This year will be a big hit if there's a poor spawning run. Let's keep the fingers and toes crossed.

Got to love the Ste. Marguerite. I have been there and only think of going back about 10 times a day.
