    Default CDC Caddis

When tying a cdc caddis in size 20 or 22, How many cdc feathers would you use? On hipwader, they list 8 feathers for a size 16.

I would think the tips from two CDC feathers, sans stems, would be sufficient for flies this small.

Try a CDC 'puff' instead of the larger feathers. More bulk and really builds up a nice wing quickly. One or two would suffice for those smaller sized flies.

There is a lot of difference in CDC to CDC. By this I mean for example the Hareline CDC is duck and they also carry Marc Petitjean Select CDC and the difference is not just the package size, it's that the later is Goose. They not only are bigger the barbules are longer too.
