When you can arrange your affairs to go fishing, forget all the signs, homilies, advice and folklore. JUST GO.
I haven't had a chance to check out all the sites you guys have mentioned, but I really like the Ross Flystart, Thanks Normand.
I'll be checking out the rest shortly,
TT.
I have a Martin MR34 on my 6'9" 1 wt. It is just about the right size for a short rod. The fly start is a bit bigger, and heavier. I think I paid about forty bucks for the Martin.
i recently bought a flystart 2 for my wife's 5 wt. no way to beat the value.

I can't say about fly fishing but there's a lot of feed lots in Kansas.

ARE YOU FU**ING SERIOUS???? The guy says he wants a reel under $50, and there are a ton of reels that will perform great for $20 -$40, and you recommend reels like Hardy where half the price is for the label?? Hardy, Orvis cfo, Abel???
Hardy with a whopping 1 year warranty Flyweight DT2 / WF3 249.00
$189.00 CFO I Fly Reel (3.6oz, 2?" diameter, for Line weights 1-3.)
Trout Series $260

Your post is as about as much help as someone asking if they should buy a G loomis NRX , or a Sage Z axis and someone chiming in they should buy a Scientific Anglers rod from Walmart!!!
Please excuse me Mr. salt flytyer. I suppose I read the original post too quickly.
Neglected to see the $50.00 max output. An honest error. I know what all these reels cost, and in my opinion
they're all worth it.
Hope you are ok and didn't suffer a mild stroke?
Thank you for taking the time to enlighten me and others.
A more thoughtful response, in my opinion, might have been...."Bob, I believe you misread the original posters question."
