I have two of the Cabelas Custom Glass Rods, a 5'6" 3wt and a 6'6" 4wt. The first thing that impressed me about these rods was the rod finish and the quality of the cork, guides and wrapping. For the price I paid I was not expecting the quality; pleasant surprise. The grips and reel seats are good quality cork with sliding band rings which helps to keep the rod weight down

I fish a lot of bamboo so the slower action of the glass rods was something I was already familiar with. That being said, the 3wt requires a very soft hand as it's easy to overpower the rod and get way too much tip bounce. The 4wt is much better to cast and is not as prone to the bounce I've experienced with the 3wt. Both rods cast better with a DT line rather than a WF, also smaller reels balance the rods out better.

Both of my rods are the 50th anniversary edition rods that include a very nice Cordura rod case. The cases are brown with yellow embroidery which includes the 50th anniversary logo.
