Thread: Would you like to donate some flies for a Reel Recovery Outing?

  1. #1

Default Would you like to donate some flies for a Reel Recovery Outing?

I know folks have asked about where they could donate flies here in the past. Here's an opportunity.

I am a volunteer River Buddy for a Reel Recovery Outing in October. If you don't know what Reel Recovery is, click the links. We are short some flies and I thought I would see if any of you would like to donate. The flies would be used for a Reel Recovery Outing in Arkansas on the White and/or Norfork rivers. Any flies not used there, would be passed along to future Reel Recovery outings around the country.

Most of our fishing this time of year is nymphs etc. There may be a little dry fly fishing with a few midge hatches. Flies needed are:
    soft hackles
    woolly buggers
    scuds
    sowbugs
    midges
    PT's/copper johns/hares ear and variations

This is a great charity and the flies would be used by some great guys in need of a break from their battle with cancer.

PM or email me if you are interested and I'll return the message with my mailing address. I would need them in my hands by October 18th.

I have registered here in Toronto to assist with Casting for Recovery, so I get it. And the more I tie, and the better my flies become, the more I can afford to cull lesser ones from my inventory - they are still good, just not my favourites any longer. Trout season here will be over in a week, so I am willing to send several. They will just be in a cardboard envelope however. PM me your address please.

I can't say about fly fishing but there's a lot of feed lots in Kansas.

I'll send some! They may not be a complete dozen of every type, but every fly counts, right? LoL!
PM me your address and I will see what I can do!
