Default THE INTRODUCTION - Readers Cast (Ralph Longhunter) - September 13, 2010

    THE INTRODUCTION

I stood there on a large gravel bar along the Nisqually River on Ft Lewis Washington, with a long flat bend before me. From that point it was but a few miles to where the river emptied into the Nisqually basin in the Puget Sound. Being fresh from ?back east?, I had been anticipating getting on water for some time.

I laughed at myself as I regained my footing... This was a great story well told... I have part of one of your lines in italics at the beginning of this paragraph for a reason. I have found as I age I tend to laugh at myself for any fish I catch "tiny or large." It doesn't matter whether he/she gets off the line, although making the catch is much more fun, I'm satisfied with feeding the fish with my fake tied food and laughing as I play them in the water.

    Again... great story!

Sweet, sweet story. The unexpected is what continues to please as I pursue this wonderful game of flyfishing.

    Thanks for sharing.

Nice story - Always makes me happy when people can make their dreams come true. Felt like I was there. Good luck with the rest of your adventures!
