I can't say about fly fishing but there's a lot of feed lots in Kansas.

Congrats on your new reel Wes. The more I fish the more I am convinced it's the fisherman and not the equipment that counts. Don't get me wrong, I love precision, high dollar equipment, but the dollars you spend on it are not the most important thing. Go out and have fun and enjoy yourself. Remember this about rods and reels, they are not your last rod or reel, Just your NEXT ONE.

Tell us how you do with your new outfit.

Flystart's a darn good reel. Bought a Flystart 2 last year as a second reel for an outfit, and found it to be better than I expected. I fish mostly for trout and black bass, and it far more than fills the bill. Pretty smooth, too, if you ask me (even if you don't).

you are lucky!!!! they were closed!!! you want a allen barstock reel at about $60 and allen fly line at about $15
Check out the review at http://www.theflyfishingforum.com/fo...scounts-9.html
Note that Joni bought a couple of reels, she is a guide in Utah and could buy Ross at half price on their guide program, but bought Allen WITHOUT A GUIDE DISCOUNT.

If it's a setup that puts you on the water and affords fish.....then it is all you need.
