I like fishing the Olsen Deciever a spun deer-hair version of the "Bass oreno" plug.
Hook: Daiichi 2461, size 4/0 to 1/0.
Thread: Red Flymaster 210.
Under-tail Section: White buck tail.,
Middle-tail Section: three strands of pearl flashabou
Top Tail Section: 2 White hen hackle (other option: white blood marabou)
Body (rear half): White belly deer-hair, spun (three bundles of deerhair).
Body (front half): Red belly deer-hair, spun (two bundles of deerhair).
Hackle: Red saddle hackle, wrapped in front of head (3 wraps).
Note Whip Finish after spinning the two bundles of red deer-hair, remove fly from vise and flatten the bottom of the fly to expose hook, then trim deer hair around the tail area, covering tail material with finger and thumb, then trim remainer of body straigth circular taper around hook shank (except the bottom).
Instert the hook back in the vise, attach the butt section Red saddle hackle to the hook, just behind the hooks eye, then whip finsh again.
