Very nice. Similar to a Cosseboom, which would just have a green body and red head. Sometimes the simplest of patterns have an elegance all their own.

Thanks for the kind words, I am a newbie to this tying thing( Feb 2010)and have been very fortunate to be mentored by some very talented tyers in Alantic Canada. Each ty I see improvement. Great job, Stage1. Your tying is impressive for someone that's only been at it six months.
I've not seen the collared version of this pattern before now. I've always liked full collars; the RAT series was among my early favorites to tie. Here are a few Joans I tied with the traditional yellow beard.
Very nice add a golden pheasant crest tail and you have a very popular Atlantic Salmon Fly on the Magaree River called the Ross Special
