Excellent letter to the publisher, a person (unidentified to protect the innocent?) who in simple prose expressed his road to happiness, on a trout stream. Overtime coming to the understanding that fly fishing is not about finding fish or catching fish, instead it is more about being where the fish live and finding yourself! ~Parnelli

    Default Great

I wish I had written that. Ladyfisher should be proud to receive it. It reminds us all to stick to fishing and forget about the glitzy tackle competition. The standard advice is to get the best outfit you can afford. But that is just a truism. Best is a relative term. If your budget allows $2500, you can have an outfit that features Orvis, Hardy, and Rio labels. On the otherhand, if $25 is all you have to spare, the Crystal River outfit from eBay is the best. Either way, get out there. Though some aspects have been heavily commercialized and turned into competitions, fly fishing is still a sport that you can take at your own pace and within your personal budget. Keep it between you and the fish.
