I've lived on it for the past twenty five years. New York side is stocked, has a good amount of fish. Vt. stopped stocking and though the counts in the main river are abysmally low, the headwaters are loaded with brookies. Tricos may still be happening and midges. Beetles and ants. . Use LONNNNNG leaders. Don't fish weekends, the tube and canoe hatch is ridiculous. Fish early and late. Throw streamers at dawn and dusk in the bigger pools. The river is low and by the time you arrive may be on the dangerously warm side. The headwaters are the best bet then. If you pm me , I may be more specific. Not the most ideal time to visit, but it is a pretty area. It's why I moved here, along with the fact the 'kill use to rock!
