Handcrafting a Graphite Fly Rod by L.A. Garcia, put out by Frank Amato Publishing, has good information, clear instructions, and great pictures to help you out. It's also a great idea to find someone who is experienced in rod building to help you get started. That's how I build my first rod. I'm already planning the next 3 or 4 rods to add to the collection.
