Chopaka May Fly
I'm heading home to Washington State from Missouri to fish Chopaka Lake in North Central Washington State in Okanagan County. I've been researching flys to tie and Terry W. Sheely Publisher of Washington State Fishing Guide & Pacific Northwest Seafood Cookery reports that you shouldn't be caught with out the Chopaka May Fly.
Okay so here is the challange just what the heck and how do you tie the Chopaka May Fly?
The Chopaka May is a Callibaetis imitation.
From Flies of the Northwest
Hook: #14 - 18 dry fly
Thread: Gray 6/0
Tail: Moose body hair
Body: Gray polypropylene
Wing: Single bunch upright deer hair
Hackle: Dun, clipped flat on the bottom (looks about even with the point of the hook)

Might I suggest you visit www.washingtonflyfishing.com and use their search engine to check out the Chopaka Mayfly. I got a bunch of hits doing that.

I can't say about fly fishing but there's a lot of feed lots in Kansas.
