Don't forget the downwind side of the pond!
Now that I live in Oklahoma and am seeking a different quarry, I was revisiting some old fly fishing magazines looking for Bass and bluegill articles.
I read in there that said to be sure to fish the downwind side of the pond since that's where all the food get's washed up to.
I had 40 minutes to sneak away so I ran down to the pond to try it out.
WOO-WEE! I only wish I had my camera - 7 bass (the largest went around 2-3 lbs) and I don't know how many bluegill and green sunfish. And they were all there in shallow water where the wind had blown all the "stuff" from the lake to.
Amazing.
Thank God for my wife, the midge nymph and those hapless Iowa Hawkeyes!
