In case you are not aware of them, I want to alert you to two great brands of camping trailers for your fishing trips. I just bought one and could not be happier!

I've really enjoyed sleeping in the pop up campers that have canvas sides. They are comfortable and sure beat sleeping in a tent. But I rented one and found that it took me about an hour for set up and the same for take down. Plus it required a fair amount of getting down on my knees, which is an increasing hassle as I age.

But here are two brands that have hard sides and pop up easily into really roomy A-frames. They are light enough to be towed by most cars, though you'll need to watch the weight of the one you buy to be sure it matches your vehicle's towing capacity.

These take no more than 2 minutes to set up and take down, with no getting down on your knees. Of the two, I have a preference for the Chalets, but I ended up buying an Aliner since I found a good used one at a friendly price that was equipped exactly as I wanted.

They come in a variety of sizes and with a range of options. I was looking for one that would be comfortable for one adult, a dog, and an occasional guest. Mine has a permanent double bed in back and a dinette that converts to a sleeping bag-sized bed up front. I have AC, a furnace, hot and cold water sink, 3-burner propane stove and 3-way refrigerator, plus a porta potty. It is really comfortable inside and very secure with the insulated hard sides.

They are somewhat expensive new, but 3 months of vigilance got me a used one I consider a bargain.

I used this site to find mine. http://www.oodle.com/ You tell it what brands interest you and subscribe for free. It then scans all Craigs lists, classified , etc. and e-mails you when it finds a new listing for what you are seeking. I ended up driving nearly 700 miles for mine, but the price made that trip very worthwhile.

I have no financial interest in either company. I'm simply trying to alert you folks to alternatives you may not be aware of. Consider me a happy camper!
