Well....spent the day invited to BBQ for the holiday on Lake Wynonna today. So....my buddy and I both figured we would bring the float tubes "just in case" an opportunity would arrive. Well, the kids wanted to swim....so we put the tubes in for the 1st time this year. Not the best time of the day, 2pm with jet skis flying around...but beggars can't be choosy I reckon. I was casting a #8 Yellow/Green frog pattern popper. Well.....1st dock I kick out in front of, and down it goes in a swirl. Suddenly I'm tied onto a 3-4lb bass! An 18", fat-bellied bugger. The largest bass I've taken on a flyrod.....and my only fish of the day:^) Setting the hook on that fish with the 7wt bass rod was considerably different than a Brown on my 4wt. Had fun....makes me wonder why I don't fish the tube more often:^)
