    Default FOTW trials

Took a couple flies out for a final durability test last night before writing them up for possible FOTW's. Met Ldice out at a local lake and we hit the water in the kayaks. Boy did they ever pass the test, besides a whole bunch of bluegills, greenies, redears and small bass, one fly held up to this guy and three of his buddies:

All four were big enough to take me for short rides in my 8ft. yak. Now I need to get started on the write-up.
If it swims and eats, it'll eat a fly.

I can attest to the durability of the fly, and the fish catching ability. Bluegill222 was catching a good looking fish every time I turned around. I am tying some up tonight for a return trip back to that lake.

You would wouldn’t you. Tell us of a new fly that will shake the world of warmwater fishing and not even tell us if its dry or subsurface, and leave it with a "Coming soon, on FOTW" tone.

    Hey Kid
When you come up next time we can get you and Steve in his canoe, and hit the hot spots Tim and I were fishing last night. I just hope the same guy that was burning his gas to create wakes all over the place will not be there.

    Larry,
I'm game for that! But I'm not very good at catching fish, so that might be a hang-up. (They were biting black furled tail mohair leeches and bead chain eyed hares ears tonight.

Is there such a thing as a bead chain hares ears nymph, other than my flybox? I tied up some a couple of years back and have never used them.

Black bead chain is good on lots of patterns!
