I can't say about fly fishing but there's a lot of feed lots in Kansas.

Looks great Wes, do you skip them on the breeze? I want to try that on the lmb at the lake because i notice when damsels and dragons are windblown, the lmb will jump clear out of the lake trying to get at them.

    Cheers,

Do you have the directions for this fly? I looked on your web page and didn't find it. I've been looking for a good dragon fly pattern and this one looks pretty good.

well moose y'all should be able to cast em with the wind then walk on the water on the tug of the line.

HLorson...The tail/body is 4 single strands of olive and chartreuse Lureflash Antron Body Wool twisted tight then the ends are brought together. Crinkled Zelon will work, from Blue Ribbon Flies. Use the Original Foam Stone procedure for the front/wing only it's done 2 times, tie in the upper and lower foam, secure and divide the wing, tie off the lower then the upper foam strip, do not cut the foam. The procedure is the same for the front wings but do cut the foam. The wing material is light elk, deer body or even moose should work.

Lureflash Antron Body Wool can be purchased from The Essential Fly fly shop in Britain.
No idea what the shipping charge is but they do ship internationally. I got the stuff from Jimmy's All Seasons Angler in Idaho Falls, Idaho years and years ago. maybe they still have it.

    Hi, Wes

Good looking dragonfly. I've been tying a very similar looking fly with either deer hair or hen hackle feathers for the wings, but I've been using furled poly yarn for the tail/body. The poly yarn accepts a permanent marker easily and floats very well.

that twisted extended body has been around for some time. i think the first time i used it was about 1985/86. antron takes magic marker well and all the poly i have is orange. just goes to show that no matter what someone has done there's always someone that did it before. is there really anything new?

    Wes,

That is a great looking fly. I bet it will result in an explosive strike.
