    Default Pike on the Fly

I just got back from a fishing trip for musky. The musky refused to reward me for my hard work but did find pike were more willing. I got a follow from one but this one made the mistake of striking. He was a lot of fun. They have speed that bass don't have, at least in bursts. I also caught one over achieving 14 inch bass who struck a musky fly. I wanna do this all over again but this time catch an actual musky!

Unless you're thinking a fly-in to some pristine Canadian lake, it needn't be a dream.

Thanks to all of you for the reply's. Catching this pike was especially satisfying as I had never caught any northern on this body of water before & I caught it on a fly I tied myself. Although it isn't especially large it did provide some nice fillets and is awaiting consumption.
The many, many casts I made to catch this fish taught me things about my fly casting and, I hope, made me a better angler.

Even better on your own fly, Cycler. They are a bunch of fun, aren't they?
If it swims and eats, it'll eat a fly.
