The fish are always right.
That is a beautiful fly! Nice fish as well!
And it's been said, trouts don't have teeth. The heck they don't!!!
Trouts don't live in ugly places.

Don't look back, we ain't goin' that way.
Hi John,
I did a FAOL search on "LF Golden Stone" so's I could see the pattern and any tying instructions that might be out there...unsuccessful. Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks, Bitterroot!

Whether you think you can, or think you cannot, you're probably right.

I am pretty sure that JC's Salmonfly is going to be the FOTW this coming week. It is the same pattern. Just scale down the size and change the colors for the golden stone.
The fly pictured in this thread is a bit different in that it has a foam underside, whereas the underside of the original was simply the antron strands and tying thread. Do it your way - foam, antron and thread, dubbing, etc.
If you are impatient, you can find my FEB Hopper FOTW on the Reader's Voice Forum back in August '09. It's the same basic pattern. Just make the rear legs long enough to represent tails and add antennae.
