Going to Colorado

Me and my brother are trying to plan a fishing trip to Colorado on July. We will be coming from Kansas City, mo and heading towards Colorado Springs. I have been to Taylor Park( Gunnison area) before but there were a lot of people around. We are looking for somewhere to go where we can hike a few miles to a good trout stream and camp with out people around. I heard Lake City is good, but have never been there. Any suggestions?
