Default June 2010 Swap of the Month

Hard to believe its time to start up another swap of the month. For June - seems to me we have done a lot of trout flies this year and yet we have a number of warm water fishermen in this group. So, lets do your favorite blue gill fly. Whatever size, style, etc. you want to tie.

Flies to be sent to me by June 30. Standard rules.

    Participating are:
    1. John R -- gill getter
    2. ibrb -- Stealth Bomber, or Hair Mara Slider [Received]
    3. Texfly -- Bluegill Special
    4. bdesavage -- "The Something Different" , size 18 [Received]
    5. FISHNFOOL9 -- [Received]
    6. Gigmaster -- black Pom-Pom Spider [Received]
    7. Sjo -- gold head dog nobler [Received]
    8. branhap -- foam gurgler
    9. RGP759 [Received]

    11. hugefish 80 [Received]
    12. billhouk -- black nosed dace #8 [Received]

    John,
At the first Michigan Fish In the fish just stopped biting, and somebody said the fish needed to see something different. I took ideas from several different flies about 4 I think and came up with something that the fish liked for awhile, and it made a good bluegill fly I called it "The Something Different" I'll do it in a size 18. I post a Pic of it when I get a little time this weekend, right now I have to head for a "Sleep(less) study tonite, My second they are going to "Fit" me with a "CPAP"... Fun &Games

I will let folks choose a Goldie Jr, a boa fly, or a fur tailed mohair leech.

    What's a blue gill?

Great now I need to go find a gill pond and see what flies will work. Heh Anybody know a lake/pond around here that needs some gills fished out? Heh What if I tie up a fly that works well for perch? I have those! heh

Gonna have to do some "research" on this one. heh

    I'm also open to ideas...

I'm new to all this so, I'm not sure I have a favorite crappie fly. I have read that crappie's like minnows. I'll offer a black nosed dace #8.
