I have use leaches for fish other than blue gill and green sunfish, but the furled tailed leach will catch all the gills and sunfish I can stand. On 2 trips this spring when the action slowed down I tied on a black furled tail leach and fished until the fish destroyed all the black leaches I had with me. Thanks for a great pattern.

After Steve mentioned these yesterday, I went home and tied up a few black ones and a few "Canadian brown" ones. My leech I've used before has marabou tail and mohair body, but I tie it on a size 6 or 8. It's a big mouthful for gills, but bass and crappie eat it readily. I'm gonna give some of these furled tail #12's a shot.
Jury's in... That's a winner! 8 fish in 9 casts shortly after I tied it on this evening. Size 12 in "Canadian brown".
