    Default Pheasant biots

I got a chance to play with some of my fly tying stuff last night. While inspecting a pheasant wing I noticed the biots. Duh, I said to myself, all birds should have these. So i broke out the vice and dubbing box and tied up a few hare's ears with the pheasant biots as tails. I happily report I liked the look. I'm sure that others have already found this out, but for me my discovery was exciting. If you haven't used them, give them a shot. I think you'll like them.

Hey...it certainly hadn't occurred to me! ;o) Where on the wing are these? I wanna check 'em out...

Dave, check the front (leading) edge of the primary flight feathers.

Will do. Thanks! I'll do that when I get home. Are the pheasant biots as large as the goose or turkey biots? I mean...I guess I'll figure that out when I see them...but...just wondering.

No they aren't. There are actually a couple of different sizes on the feather from the tip to the quill. I would imagine they would dye easily as well.
