Default lake st clair muskamoot bay smallies

Got out today and battled the 20mph winds on Muskamoot Bay off of LSC (flats area) to do a little smallmouth fishing before the rains. Fishing in 2' of water with the only rod i have thatll punch through the wind, my 8wt with a lamson konic reel. I never fish a dropper system but i tried it today figuring i could increase my catch ratio with bass and bluegill. I used a home tied sculpin pattern with a small size 8 chart green wooly bugger. In an hour and a half i was able to get 6 smallies and 1 largemouth. Not a great day but not a bad day either. No pike, no carp. Surprisingly, half the fish came on the green bugger? I had to use a sink tip line just to keep it off the 1' chop just so i could feel any strikes. And even that was difficult losing alot of fish
