Well this is one that was kickin' my butt for the past few days. Between the big diameter of the butt section and the fact that it has a guide spacing where the guides are no more than 7" apart it was not much fun to say the least.

Blank is a 9' 11wt Scott Fly Rods 3pc, Reel seat is a Struble D7, I turned the full wells to be about an inch longer than a "normal" full wells and is done out of brown burl/Copano/Burnt cork with a matching large fighting butt. Used a pair since this rod is going to see some huge fish I used a pair of FUJI Silicone Carbide strippers on it and double foot guides. Wraps are a variegated Burgundy that gives a cool two tone tiger stripe look to it and trimmed it with metallic gold.

I don;t think I have ever been so thankful to have a rod done and off the bench!
