Newb question. I put the simple short pigtail of mono on the end of my WFF line (5wt) with a nail knot and perfection loop, probly only 4 inches worth. Partly from the abuse of tying the tail knot, and partly over time, the pig tail has gotten a pretty good curl that I can't straighten.

My question is, is this much of a concern. Primarily, I'm thinking of it causing cast problems. I'm still new and poor enough at casting that I probably wouldn't be able to know if cast problems were caused by the curled pig tail or my casting.

The pig tail is Orvis Hi-Flote, 20-lb, I think. Or since it's on the business end, it should be a pig nose? Tongue? Looks more like a tail right now.
