I'm going to tell this in hopes that someone will think and start carrying a wading staff.

I can't say that enough after Saturday. CARRY A WADING STAFF!

I went fishing and was making my way along the bank over some very large rocks and boulders. The water was way to deep to wade. My right foot went into a hole between some rocks. When I tried to make my next step, the rock my left foot was on tilted toward the creek. When i tried to correct myself, my right foot got hung on the rocks and wouldn't come out of the hole. If I hadn't had my wading staff, I'd gotten wet at the best. Most likely I would have broken my leg or at least sprained my right ankle. I'm not that good of a swimmer, and I don't think my chances would have been very good with one leg.

It's my sincerest hope that someone reads this and decides to buy themself a wading staff and always carry it and use it. But I pray they never NEED it.

a scared but thankful to be alive,
