    Default Switch Rod Builld

The parts for my switch rod arrived last Monday so I started putting the butt section together. I've decided on Crimson thread for the wraps with Metallic Gold tipping. Last night I wrapped the winding check and the hook keeper and coated them with one coat of Flex Coat Low Build. The colors look great together but the finish dried really lumpy. So I let it continue to dry all day today, and after work I put another coat on. This time it looks like it's going to set up very smooth. I'm really liking the way it's starting to look. I'll post some pictures when I finish.
Steve Clark with Mid West Custom Fly Rods helped me out with this rod and I heartily recommend his services. Thanks Steve, I think I'm going to be really happy with this stick.
Here are a couple of pics.

Where you go is less important than how you take the steps.
