questions on fly fishing for stealhead in Wisconsin

i live in Wi and i have heard of fly fishing the brule and other Lake superior tributaries. i have done a little bit of studying and i have some hatches that can happen i plan on going next spring for the spring run. i was just wondering there are any popular spotsi should hit and what patterns i should start tying and other information. also what X tippet should i buy.

There are a number of books out there. Matt Supinski's Steelhead Dreams has gotten good reviews.
