    Default Stupid people

While fishing a local public pond today with a friend for bluegills we had a guy come walking past on the walking trail repeating very loudly. "You will fish a long time and never catch a trout in there". After telling him telling him we were fishing for bluegills he continued his chant. And told me that he "knows for fact that there are no trout in the pond." We decided that he was very entertaining and some people just don't understand.

He must be from the south. When I am in my float tube fishing for gills I always have people yell at me that there is no trout in the lake or they buzz me in their new sparkley bass boats
If at first you don't succeed ... Then sky diving may not be the sport for you

I would go to the grocery store and buy three of four trout, stick them on a stringer and when they started shouting at me I would hold them up and say "OH Really where did these come from then???? I would then drop the stringer and go back to fishing.

I have people tell me that all the time! Or they ask "do you ACTUALLY catch anything with that thing?"

    That's great!

Reminds me of a story a friend told me about catching some kind of ray or skate at the beach in the summer, and keeping it frozen, then throwing on the stringer on the first day of trout when the people around him left for lunch. Got some interesting looks.

Happens to me also, was fishing a smallmouth stream, some guy walks buy . . . "I did not know there were Trout in here!" . . . . I replied "There isn't" . . . . . and left it at that . . . he probably figured we were stupid or something for continuing to fly fish in the stream!

I fish a small put n' take lake every spring for bass. While the power baiters are trying to catch cookie cutter concrete pond raised stocker trout I am casting for wild bass. They always ask me why I am tossing those funny looking flies (deer hair poppers) and tell me I will never catch any trout fishing the way I do. The look on their faces is worth the ridicule when they see me taking 4 pound bass off the surface with a fly rod.
