And post #7 is not only condescending, it's downright tacky and out of line.

having your forum user name the same as your commercial rod building business name may indicate to some people (who had their websites or blogs removed from their signature lines) and the paying sponsors that you are getting "free" advertising.

i still think thats what the first poster was asking about and not the fact that you got the clearance from the owners to sell your rods. it is a very cryptic post that should have explained the intent of the question.

Heck, I thought you were from southern Wyoming and kept losing flies on the back cast.

Betty, I would agree with you if he hadn't already shown that he does not express himself well at the beginning of this thread. I am inclined to put it down to poor language skills rather than deliberate offensiveness.

Sounds to me that perhaps someone tinkled in someone's Wheaties. I've never seen any indication that Steve was hawking his own business on this forum. Steve built a rod for my son a few years back before he joined this forum. It was a birthday present to give to my boy while we were on a fishing trip to the Smokey Mountains. Even though Daniel's birthday came sooner than Steve's normal backlog, he made it in time for me to give it to my son for his birthday. The price he charged was insanely low compared to the quality of the rod and the rush job. Every time Daniel fishes that rod he raves about how much he likes it. Steve helped make a dad a hero in the eyes of a teen aged son. Nobody could complain about that.

Steve's an upright guy and I find the nature of this thread both insulting and condescending. If the original poster had an issue, he should have taken it up in private with Steve and Lady Fisher and not aired dirty laundry out in public. For what it's worth, I find it in poor taste. If this opinion puts me on the outs with some of the in crowd here, I guess it's a burden I'll have to live with.

Are you kidding me? I have been turned off to this site lately due to post like this, but this one takes the cake.
Jack at the very least you have shown very poor taste. I find it random that a newbie would make such a post.
I get the impression you have an axe to grind.
    Who is Jack really?

The question has been asked and answered by the boss. That should have put an end to it. It didn't, so I will.
