Default Fish Porn first time on the water in 8 months

Took me three misses before I fianlly got this one hooked up. Put the fish on the reel and ended up with the line jammed between the spool and frame. Brought him in the rest of the way, about 30 feet by hand. This fish had the reel singing as he almost took me into the backing. This is the first time in 8 months that my health has been good enough for me to get on the water. Still struggling health wise but improving very, very slowly. Took me 30 minutes just to tie on a new tippet and fly. I am exhausted an heading off to bed.

15 inch rainbow holdover caught on a 5'2" 2pc, 5wt bamboo (purpose built. not a banty) with a #14 pheasant tail nymph, WF5F line. Released unharmed to fight another day in Holman Lake, Little Buffalo State Park. Sorry about the quality of the picture but I will not carry my high end DSLR on the water while fishing:

Only fish I caught but made it worth the effort.

    Eric,

Nicely DONE! I'm delighted to hear you made it out and even more so with the obvious success of the trip. I guess springs even trying to get to Pottsville. Bet it was a neat fight on that shorty 'boo! Wish I could have been there! Thanks for the picture.

    Outstanding Eric,
You beat me to the punch. I haven't been fishing even once yet this year. Soon though.
It's good to see you posting again.

Well done, Eric. Glad to see you got out. I'm very sympathetic about the health challenges and truly feel your pain. It sure does feel good to finally get it done though! Thanks for sharing.

That must have felt just great after an eight month hiatus! I hope you improve in your recovery and make it out to the water as much as you need/want.
