squirrel and bluegill 007.jpgsquirrel and bluegill 005.jpgThe temp got to 65 here today. So I went to a small pond and fished for a while and ended up catching about a dozen bluegills. Maybe now I will make it till this weather gets better. They destroyed a size 12 prince nymph. I have some pics I will post later.

Very nice, Steve! Maybe I need to hit the lake sometime soon...

I'm jealous. I took a walk around one of the local park lakes yesterday. 60+ degree weather but I was walking over snow and there was only a couple feet of open water along the shore around the lake. Hopefully a couple more days and it will be clear and I can get out and at least get some casting in.

Aw man, good for you. We've finally got some warm weather but there's a foot of ice on everything yet. "This too shall pass.." "This too shall.."

I hate you. There's no open water for 100 miles in any direction here.

Yep, still gonna be awhile before the ice is gone here. But thanks, Steve...that sure is a sight for sore eyes!

Have hit the "ornamental" pond in my community the last two evenings and had a blast on small 'gills using Cypert's Corn Fly, #14. Meeting a buddy there this afternoon for more "action".

    Cheers,

The bass are moving into the shallows here. The mornings are still cool enough to turn your fingers red, though, obviously. Water temp is in the low 60s and air temp was in the 50s. (before sunrise). I just had to make a few casts before heading into work.
