Default Fly tying material on the move!!!

Showed up on back yard trail camera a few days ago. Have seen two grey foxes before several times; but, this is the first for a coyote. Had heard they were in the area. Set up is about 30 yards from the house.

    Sweet!
I think I see Sasquatch. Is there any fly patterns that use Sasquatch hair? ;o)

    Coyote tail makes great streamers.

The underfur is a good dubbing.

Mask hairs are a good, maybe better, substitute for Hare's ear/mask material. Especially if you like to tie larger nymphs.

All of this is better if the animal is harvested in the winter.

Grn, are you sure that's not a Virginia wolf? Careful, cause if it is, those are protected.

We have them all over in Connecticut. It's amazing how there are many fewer folks with "outdoor"cats these days.

Gotta agree with you there Big Bad Wulff. I was told once by someone that's suppose to know to leave them alone if you are not having trouble. (dead pets, calves that sort of thing) He said if you kill one, then another one will move into its area and you may have trouble with the newcomer. I guess that makes sense, but I still go BANG when I get the chance.

Yeah, pretty much. Although I did hear a conservation officer once remark at a seminar that this is only a problem if you stop shooting them.

SW VA, gods own country - My cousin has a cabin near Martinsville and he has seen numerous cyotes, he says they greatly reduce the groundhog population - I friend here in the Shenandoah Valley has a simular camera and has also photographed a coyote. I think there are more around than we realize, they dont show themselves...
